Mr. Selvin Prasad is the representative of EqualMed in Fiji. His journey with EqualMed commenced in 2017 as a volunteer unloading the 20-foot container of medical supplies. His volunteering transitioned into serving as the communication channel between EqualMed and healthcare facilities in Fiji for the past several years. Mr. Prasad graciously gave himself to manage the unloading and distribution of medical supplies and equipment for Project Fiji 2020 due to Covid-19 mandated travel restrictions.
Selvin is a devoted Christian and believes in helping those in need. He is an assistant lecturer at The University of the South Pacific in the School of Accounting and Finance. Mr. Prasad has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), Post Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching, Post Graduate Diploma Commerce, and Master of Commerce by research in accounting. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in accounting.
Mr. Prasad and his wife Ranjani Lata (BSCGced, PGDSC, MSc), a high school teacher in Waidina Secondary School, together with EqualMed initiated a project to equip the science lab of schools to enable students undertake science experiments. EqualMed is encouraging science students to consider a career in healthcare as a sustainable strategy to address healthcare problems in Fiji.
