Ranjani Lata is the Director of Education Operations for EqualMed in Fiji. Her journey with EqualMed commenced as a volunteer unloading the 40-foot container of medical supplies. Her volunteering transitioned into serving as the communication channel between EqualMed and the education sector in Fiji for the past three years. Ranjani graciously gave herself to manage the unloading and distribution of medical supplies and equipment for Project Fiji 2020, 2021, and 2022 due to Covid-19 mandated travel restrictions.
Ranjani facilitated EqualMed's initiative to equip high school science labs to enable students in undertake science experiments. EqualMed is encouraging science students to consider a career in healthcare as a sustainable strategy to address healthcare problems and increase human capital in the medical sciences in Fiji.
Ranjani is a devoted Christian and believes in helping those in need. She is the head of the science department at Waidina College working under the Ministry of Education, Heritage, and Arts. She has a Bachelor of Science and Graduate Certificate in Education (Biology and Chemistry), Post Graduate Diploma in Science (Biology), and Master of Science by research in Biology. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology
